Artur Axmann

Artur Axmann , born the February 18th 1913 with Hagen in Westphalia and dead the October 24th 1996 with Berlin, was a German Nazi , successor of Baldur von Schirach with the head of the Jeunesses hitlériennes in 1940.

Biography

Born with Hagen, it continues studies in right and adheres as of the end of the Années 1920 to the Nazi party. It founds the first group of Youths hitlériennes of Westphalia in 1928.

In 1932 one does it Reichsleiter party to reorganize the programs concerning Youths hitlériennes, and a year later he becomes chief of the social Office of the direction of the youth of the Third Reich. Axmann succeeds in making Youths hitlériennes ( Hitlerjugend ) left the direction of professional training of the State and improving their work agriculturel.

In active service on the Western face until May 1940, it succeeds Baldur von Schirach, becoming thus Reichsjugendführer (chief of the Hitlerjugend ) of the party. In 1941 it is seriously wounded on the Eastern face; one had to cut down an arm to him.

January 4th, 1944 one decrees the German Ordre to him ( Deutscher Orden ), the most important possible decoration of the party.

As from February 1945, it is ordering brigade of hunting armor-plated of the Volkssturm , directing several units of child-soldiers of the Hitlerjugend . They fight especially with the Bataille of Seelow, left the Bataille of Berlin. Many the young people fighting under Axmann die without drive and military equipment.

In April 1945, whereas the Red Army Soviet approach and the battle with Berlin makes its devastations, it takes refuge in the Führerbunker. He manages to escape from it with Martin Bormann (of which he will be pilot death) and Ludwig Stumpfegger. He disappears a few months and takes the pseudonym of Erich Siewert . It is captured in December 1945 when the clandestine movement Nazi whom it organized is discovered.

In May 1949, a Tribunal of Dénazification of Nuremberg condemns it to three years and three months of Emprisonnement before being again condemned the August 13rd 1958 to a fine thirty-five thousand Deutsche Mark, approximately half of the price of its property in Berlin. The lawsuit finds that he was Nazi by conviction.

It specializes thereafter, inter alia, in the trade with the Eastern European countries, and works with Gelsenkirchen and Berlin.

He died the October 24th 1996 in Berlin.

He wrote his Mémoires towards the end of his life.
