Village of old the Brie Champagne, on a raised plate, not far from the sources of Dhuys and with orée of the forest of the " Fossés" reds;. In the past " Hertungiae" , mentioned in 1137.

The church Saint Pierre is classified historic building since June 5th, 1928. Its first elements go back to the 15th century and it was altered during the centuries. This church does not have a bell-tower, but a bell suspended outside.

The fountain is fed by a source considered, formerly, to cure the evils of throat and the fevers. The laundrette is decorated on the topic with the fable with Jean with the Fountain " The fox, flies and Hérisson".

The castle, old vassal seigniory of Montmirail, is now private property.
