Arthur Schnitzler
Arthur Schnitzler , born with Vienna the May 15th 1862 and died in Vienna the October 21st 1931, is a writer and Austrian Médecin .
Biography
After having studied medicine at the University of Vienna in 1879, it obtains its doctorate of medicine in 1885 and works with the general hospital of Vienna, but ends up giving up medicine to turn to the writing.
Its works were very discussed, in particular because of their frank description of the Sexualité and of their opposition to the anti-semitism. It was treated of pornographe after the publication of its part the Round ( Reigen ).
Its works were the subject of several film adaptations, in particular by max Ophüls.
He is the grandfather of the ecologist Michael Schnitzler.
Traumnovelle (1926) with fact the object of an adaptation to the cinema by Stanley Kubrick in Eyes Wide Shut.
