Arthur Francis Hemming

Arthur Francis Hemming (1893 - 1964) was a British Entomologiste .

This eminent systematician was, of 1937 with 1958, secretary of the International commission of zoological nomenclature.

Born on February 9th, 1893 in the district from Kensington in London, wire of Arthur George Hemming (1866-1951) and of her wife Celia Ursula Helen, born Watson (1868-1946).

It accepted its education with Rugby and the Corpus Christi College in Oxford. It was used in France during the First World War as a second lieutenant in 3rd Batallion of the regiment of the Duke as Wellington and was promoted captain in 1916. Severely wounded in July 1916, it returned to England.

In December 1918, it began its career within the British administration. It was named civil servant of the department of the Treasury in December 1919. He was assistant secretary of the chancellor of the Exchequer (J. Austen Chamberlain) from January in November 1920 and private secretary of the Secretary of State for Ireland (Sir Hamar Greenwood) of 1920-1922.
