Arthur Barbat de Bignicourt
Arthur Barbat de Bignicourt , born with Rheims the January 31st 1824 and died in the castle of Bignicourt-sur-Saulx the September 7th 1888, is a French writer and historian.
He was director of the newspaper the Fashion, of which he wrote the history, and author of books and historical articles, several comedies of living room as well as book of anecdotes on the French Academy (under the pseudonym of Arthur de Drosnay).
He was mayor of Bignicourt-sur-Saulx, president of the literary Company of Vitry-le-François, member corresponding of the Company of agriculture, trades, sciences and arts of the Marne, the Academy of Rheims and several other learned societies.
Arthur Barbat de Bignicourt is the grandson of Florent Simon Andrieux, former mayor of Rheims.
