Arterial Hypotension

The arterial hypotension corresponds to the fall of the blood tension with less 90  mmHg for the maximum one.

There exist various kinds of hypotension:

  • the orthostatic hypotension (falls of tension after a fast survey)
  • hypotension postprandiale (lowers pressure which occurs naturally after each meal. Blood flows indeed to the digestive system to make it possible to assimilate well the nutrients)

Hypotension is regarded as a problem only when it is accompanied by faintnesses: weakness, dizzy spell or even fainding.

Symptoms

Hypotension can appear by a tiredness, giddinesses in position upright, a black veil. To the extreme, it can drain the cardiac pump at the time of the Collapsus.

A blood pressure with less 50  mmHg is particularly severe.

Etiologies

Hypotension can reveal a Hypovolémie absolute (drops blood volume), consecutive, for example with a Hémorragie or the use of a Diurétique, or relative, by fall of peripheral resistances (Collapsus anaphylactic, treatment anti-hypertenseur by Béta-blocking or Inhibiting calcic, Malayan Vagal, various diseases). Hypotension can be due to a reduction in the rate of Potassium in blood.

Treatment

The emergency treatment of hypotension rests on the Décubitus with the lower extremities in raised position, the filling and the Catécholamine S.

The treatment etiologic rests on the closing of a hemorrhagic wound, the stop of an anti-hypertenseur treatment,
