Artemis Fowl 5: The lost colony is the fifth tome cheese of the series of best seller of Eoin Colfer, Artemis Fowl.

Synopsis

Ten thousand years ago, human and fairies fought a great battle for the magic island of Ireland. When the fairies realized that they would never gain, they moved under ground their civilization and hid. All the families agreed on it, except the demons.

The demons projected to be raised out of time until they were ready to once more make the war on the human ones. But the charm has turned out badly, and they were catapulted in the Limbs. Maintaining the deterioration of the charm accelerates and matérialisations of demon bursts. Even the fairy-like scientists cannot envisage the next one.

But somebody in is able. Artémis, higher spirit criminal of teenager, solved the temporal equations whereas no human usually can it. Thus, when a confused and frightened demon appears in a sicilian theater, Artémis is there to meet it. Unfortunately it is not only. A mysterious second nobody also solved the equations etÆ, managed to remove the demon before Artémis can put it in safety.

The second nobody in question is another child genius, a 12 year old named girl Minera Paradizo.

However, Holly Shorts, ex-captain in the unit of the Goblin, are recruited in “Section 8”, a secret group in the unit FAR which has pursued the Demons for 500 years. They discover that Artémis solved the temporal equations which enable him to predict the exact place where a new Demon should appear. Then they send Holly to contact Artémis on the surface.
