Art Heyman

Arthur Bruce Heyman (born the June 24th 1941 with New York) is a former American player professional of Basket-ball.

Biography

Back of 1m90, after having evolved/moved with the Oceanside college in New York, Heyman integrated Duke University into the beginning of the Années 1960, where it registered: 1984 points for an average of 25,1 points per match. At the time of its year senior in 1963, it off gained the title of “Player National the Year”, the trophy of “ACC Men' S Basketball Player off the Year”, the trophy Oscar Robertson and the trophy of “NCAA Basketball Tournament Most Outstanding Player” (although Loyola University Chicago gained the tournament).

Successes of Heyman at the university enabled him to be selected in the first place of the draft 1963 by the New York Knicks. At the time of its first season, it registered 15,4 points per match and belonged to the “TEAM AlRookie”. Its time of play with Knicks decreased at the time of its second season, making fall its average at 5,7 points per match. Heyman left New York in 1965, and after a short period with the Cincinnati Royals and the Philadelphia 76ers, it left the NBA for the American Basketball Association in 1967.

He played in ABA for the three following seasons, gaining a championship with the Pittsburgh Pipers in 1968 with which he registered more than 20 points per match.

Heyman withdrew basketball in 1970 with a total of: 4030 points in NBA/ABA.

Heyman is member of “Duke Sports Hall off Famed” and of “Jewish Sports Hall off Famed. ”

Its shirt number 25 of Duke was withdrawn in 1990.
