Art Basel

Art Basel is one of most important the fair of Contemporary art of the world. It is held each years in June with Basle in Suisse. In 2007, nearly 300 galleries were represented (to be compared with the 169 FIAC 2006 in Paris and with the 151 of Frieze 2007 in London, for example). The proximity of the Germany, whose taxation is particularly inciting with the constitution of private collections of works of art, is for much in the success of this demonstration.

Since 2002, Art Basel organizes a demonstration parallel in December with Miami, with the the United States under the name of Art Basel Miami Beach.
