Arsace Ier
Arsace Ier is the founder of the dynasty of the Arsacides.
It invades, in 250 before JC, part of the territory séleucide which will become the Parthian empire, from where the name of Arsacides given to the Parthian dynasty.
He was initially private in the army of Antiochos II, king de Syrie. He benefitted from the weakening of this prince to free his fatherland into -255 and seized the Parthie and the Hyrcanie. He took the title of king, and made Hécatompyles his capital.
According to the versions:
- his/her brother Tiridate succeeded to him of -248 with -217;
- his/her son Artaban Ier Arsace II succeeded to him of -211 with -191.
