Ars Rediviva
Ars Rediviva was a Czech unit considered, based with Prague.
Il played a fundamental role in the rédecouverte of the Baroque music in Czechoslovakia
Beginning
Founded in 1951 by the Flutist Milan Munclinger and his wife, the Pianist and Harpsichordist Viktorie Švihlíková, Ars Rediviva - on the initiative of Jean-Pierre Rampal - took again the name of French l´ensemble of Claude Crussard, whose members perished tragically in 1947.In the years 1950, the chief of the Czech Philharmonic orchestra Václav Talich worked with the unit.
Cycle concerts of the Baroque music (1954-1994)
Since 1954, Ars Rediviva gave its cycle in concerts for the subscribers to the Palais Wallenstein, later in the Dvořák Room with the Rudolfinum in Prague (always 6, later 12 concerts during the season). During 40 years, several hundreds of works baroques were presented there to the public, among which many first of the manuscripts d´archives.A share d´enregistrements in the concerts in Rudolfinum is deposited with the Czech Museum of music (see external Liens).

L´ensemble was the first in Czechoslovakia to record much d´oeuvres baroques (p.ex. Johann Sebastian Bach: the Brandenburger Concertos , continuations for orchestra, the musical Offering , the Art of the running away , cantatas crowned and profane, l´œuvres of chamber music; Carl Philipp Emanuel Bach: symphonies, cantatas, sonatas in trio, sonatas for keyboard, concertos for harpsichord, concertos for violoncello, concertos for flute; Johann Christian Bach: symphonies, l´œuvres of chamber music; Wilhelm Friedemann Bach: symphonies, l´œuvres of chamber music; Georg Friedrich Haendel: Music for the royal fireworks , Toilets Music , sonatas in trio opus 2 and opus 5, the sonatas opus 1; Georg Philipp Telemann : continuations for orchestra, sinfonias, concertos, Moralische Kantaten , Music of Table , the Parisian Quartets , Essercizii Musici ; Heinrich Schütz : Oratorio of Christmas ; François Couperin: sonatas in trio, the Parnassus or the apotheosis of Corelli , the Concert in the form of apotheosis to the memory of incomparable Mr. de Lully , the royal Concerts ; Jean-Philippe Branch: the Parts of harpsichord in concert ; Antonio Vivaldi: Stabat MATER , sonatas, concertos, cantatas; Arcangelo Corelli : l´œuvres of chamber music; Alessandro Scarlatti : instrumental cantatas, l´œuvres of chamber music; Franz Benda: concerts for flute - the first recording of Jean-Pierre Rampal in Czechoslovakia, sonatas in trio, sinfonies; Jiří Antonín Benda : concerts for harpsichord, sinfonies, sonatas in trio, the duodrame Ariadne auf Naxos , Bendas Klage ; François-Xavier Richter: sonatas in trio; Jan Dismas Zelenka : sonatas in trio, l´œuvres for orchestra, Lamentationes Jeremiae Prophetae , etc)Depuis 1954, Ars Rediviva collaborated with Supraphon, later with Panton, Columbia, Vanguard, Ariola, DGG, CBS, Orfeo, Japanese, Sony Classical and also with the Radio and Television (distinctions: Grand Prix of the Disc of the Academy Charles Cros, " Lion d´or of Supraphon" , etc).
Soloists
Ars Rediviva, formed by Milan Munclinger - flute, Stanislav Duchoň - oboe (followed later by Václav Snítil and Antonín Novák - violin), František Sláma - violoncello and Viktorie Švihlíková (followed Josef Hála) - harpsichord, s´est devoted particularly to the Chamber music.En widening its repertory, the formation regularly reached the manpower of a Chamber orchestra, composed for the majority of the soloists of the Philharmonic orchestra Czech and directed by Milan Munclinger.
In the vocal compositions presented themselves to p.ex. the soloists Theo Altmeyer, Nedda Casei, Otto Peter, Věra Soukupová, Ladislav Mráz, Karel Berman, Jana Jonášová, Virginia Walterová, as well as the chorus of l´Orchestre philharmonic Czech (" Český pěvecký sbor" in Czech).
Ars Rediviva also collaborated with Jean-Pierre Rampal (1951-1984), Maurice André, András Adorján. It gave many concerts in Europe. Several Czech type-setters (p.ex. Ilja Hurník, Jan Tausinger, Ivan Jirko, Petr Eben) dedicated their compositions Néoclassique S with him.
