Arrowhead Stadium
The Arrowhead Stadium (called The Red Sea or simply Arrowhead ) is a stage of American football and Soccer located in the Truman Sports Complex beside the Kauffman Stadium in the town of Kansas City, with the Missouri.
Since 1972, it is the stage of the Chiefs of Kansas City, a football team American evolving/moving in division American Football Conference of the league NFL. In 1996, the Kansas City Wizards of the Major League Soccer became tenants at the sides of the Chiefs. Its capacity offers 79.451 places with 10.199 seats of club and 80 continuations of luxury. The stage is surrounded by a carpark of 26.000 places. It is the noisiest enclosure of NFL because the cries of the fans reach sometimes 120 decibels. The Arrowhead Stadium is called " The Red Sea " because of the color of its seats and Kansas City Chiefs.
History
The Arrowhead Stadium was inaugurated the August 12th 1972 and its originators were architects of the firm Kivett and Myers. Its cost of construction was of $43 million USD.Today, after more than three decades of existence, the Arrowhead Stadium remains one of the most prestigious stages in NFL. After three years with Dallas under the name of Dallas Texans, the owner Lamar Hunt moved the team with Kansas City in 1963 and has famous the team Kansas City Chiefs. During almost a decade the Chiefs divided decayed the Kansas City Municipal Stadium with the Royals of Kansas City of MLB. In the middle of the years 1960, the leaders projected to build a stage multisports. However the idea was cancelled. The leaders of Kansas City then decided to build two stages, for the Royals and for the Chiefs. In 1967, the voters approved the plan to build two stages. Work of the stages started in 1969. However, the construction of retractable roof planned for the stages was cancelled because of the delay on the project.
After more than three years of construction, the stage was accomplished for the beginning of the season 1972. The building was called Arrowhead Stadium . The Kansas City Chiefs played their first match at the stage the August 12th 1972 against the St Louis Cardinals. It has more than 70.000 red seats and gold in three lines and a surface in artificial grass Astroturf since 1972. Since its opening, the Arrowhead Stadium underwent many improvements. In 1984, the leaders proposed to add a dome at the stage. However, the idea was cancelled because of the costs of the project. A video screen giant JumboTron was added above higher line of the southern platform in 1991. In 1994, the playing field in Astroturf was replaced by natural lawn. The Arrowhead Stadium has several approvals, including Arrowhead Club, more than 10.000 seats of club and 80 continuations of luxury.
The record of multitude took place the November 5th 1972, at the time of the match Oakland Raiders vs. Kansas City Chiefs, there were 82.094 spectators.
Future
The April 4th 2006, the voters of the county of Jackson approved an increase in tax to collect $850 million USD for restorations of the Arrowhead Stadium and Kauffman Stadium. However the voters rejected an increase in the tax so that $170 million USD is used to place a roof at bearing on the stage.The voters approved the first question about the vote (a tax of sale of 3/8 hundreds to help to renovate the two stages) with 53%. Thus since the plan of the roof with bearing did not pass, Kansas City chose to withdraw its request to accommodate the Super Bowl XLIX in 2015.
