Arrived

Arriva is a British private group specialized in the public transport travellers. It exploits drunk services of and Train S, mainly in Great Britain, but also in several other countries of Europe. Arrived sees itself like second private operator of public transport in Europe after Veolia Transport.

British railway concessions

Arrived is in particular titular Concession S (called franknesses in English) railway following:
  • Arrived Trains Northern , regional trains in the north of the England;

  • Arrived Trains Merseyside , old name of the division which exploited the concession of the Merseyrail of 1998 to 2003. In February 2003, the Strategic Rail Authority prolonged this concession until July of the same year to the profit of Arrived, before allotting it in July of the same year to an international consortium composed of Serco and NedRailways (a division of the Nederlandse Spoorwegen, railroads Dutch).
  • Arrived Trains Wales ( Trenau Arriva Cymru ), exploits a concession travellers including/understanding that of the Wales and Borders, previously exloitée by the group National Express train Group, and that of North Wales, previously exploited by First Group within the framework of the concession First North Western. This concession allotted to Arriva for one 15 years duration as from the December 7th 2003, with clauses of re-examination after 5 and 10 years).

European subsidiary companies

Netherlands

The branch Dutchwoman, Arriva Nederland is a shipping company by Autobus present in all the provinces of the Netherlands, except septentrional Holland, the Zealand and the Limbourg. It also holds the company NoordNed and exploits services of trains, in particular in north around Groningen, with a transborder line leading to Leer in Germany.

Denmark

Arriva Danmark A/S exploits services of bus and trains with the Denmark. Sometimes happened advertisement to provide 22  % of the services of public transport in the country.

Germany

In Germany Arriva exploits services of trains and bus in eight of the sixteen federal Länder and says the third operator of regional trains after the Deutsche Bahn and Veolia Transport. Arrived operates in Germany through five branches, in particular EP Arrived AG , the Osthannoversche Eisenbahnen (OHE), the Regentalbahn and the two companies of bus Sippel Travel in the area of Frankfurt and Verkehrsbetriebe Bils around Münster, in Westphalia. Through OHE and EP Arrived is also owner of a few hundred kilometers of line railway and uses also goods trains.

Arrived began its expansion in Germany in 2004 by acquiring majorities in the EP Holding AG and the Regentalbahn , the last causing the removal of the Arriva Deutschland GMBH of Hamburg at Viechtach, the seat of Regentalbahn. Arrived quickly could increase its majority in the EP Holding AG and the Regentalbahn with 100  %. The EP Holding AG was débaptisé EP Arrived AG .

The EP Arrived AG is the parent company of the Prignitzer Eisenbahn (PEG) which exploits various railway lines in Lânder of Rhineland-of-North-Westphalia and of the Brandebourg and with 50  % of the company Ostdeutsche Eisenbahn GMBH (ODEG) , exploiting lines around Berlin and in the Land of Mecklembourg-Poméranie Western.

Czech Republic

In 2006, Arriva bought the operator of drunk buses Transcentrum in Czech Republic.

Spain

In Spain, Arriva exploits lines of bus in the North-East of Galicia and on Mallorca, and also bought a majority of the capital the socity of bus ESFERA in Madrid.

Italy

In 2002, Arriva took the control of the Gruppo SAB which exploits lines of bus in the provinces of Lombardia, Trieste and Cremona. In 2004 and 2005, Arriva acquired through the Gruppe SAB other companies of bus, in particular the SAF of Udine, SADEM of Torino and SAPAV of Pinerolo (with unit Ca 36 km/ans million with 740 buses).

Portugal

In September 2003, Arriva bought the company Transportes sul LED tejo' (TST) , which expolite of the lines of bus in the south of the country.
