Mark German of material of Cinéma produces by company ARRI created by August Arnold and Robert Richter (their initial gave rise to initials ARRI) in 1917. Initially manufacturing copiers, headlights, small cameras and even of the filmed series, it is more known for its professional cameras reflex camera Arriflex and Arricam (produced with the Austrian manufacturer Moviecam).

History of the mark

It is in 1932 that the chief of the research department Erich Kästner begins the development of a camera reflex camera to mirror. The first prototype for film of 35 mm is presented in 1937 to the fair of Leipzig under the name of Arriflex 35. This camera " of poing" , light for the time, will be largely used for the turning of films of topicality and propaganda during the Second world war. It is in 1952 that the first model 16 mm appears, the mark remaining confined at the top-of-the-range professional market. The Arriflex cameras are designed for catches of sights in 16mm, 35mm and 65mm, but the mark also turned to the numerical one with the Arri D20.
