Definition

These agencies were created in order to facilitate the co-operation between the Member States of the European Union in the organized international fight against criminality. This penal matter co-operation represents the “third pillar” of the European Union.

  • European Office of police force (Europol)
  • European Body for the reinforcement of the legal cooperation (Eurojust)
