Arnouville-les-Goness

Arnouville-lès-Gonesse is a commune located at the south-eastern end of the Val-d'Oise, to 18 km in the north of Paris.

Geography

Arnouville-les-Goness is bordering on: Gonesse, Bonneuil-in-France, Garges-lès-Gonesse, Sarcelles and Villiers-the-Beautiful.

The commune is served by the RER D (Gare of Villiers-the-Beautiful - Gonesse - Arnouville).

History

August 1st

Arnonville in 1794, the village is renamed Arnouville in 1801, then Arnouville-lès-Gonesse in 1843. This commune is one of the bastions of the Armenian community of the north of Paris.

Arnouville-les-Goness belongs to the jurisdiction of authority of Gonesse, and great authority as well as trade of Pontoise.

Monuments and places of visit

the church was built in 1782 covered local brick of coating for the first phase of its realization by the architect Jean-Baptiste Chaussard. The Nef has six spans and is covered with a barrel vault. The chorus is very narrow and ends in a flat Chevet. The building is registered with the inventory of the Historic buildings since 1986. the castle was built of 1750 with 1758, at the request of Jean-Baptiste de Machault d' Arnouville, Minister for the king Louis XV. The descendants of Machault d' Arnouville resided at it and followed one another until in 1868 it.

the fountain hones of it which decorates the center of the place of the Republic goes back to 1745. It is decorated sculptures according to the drawings of Claude Guillot-Aubry. It is also registered with the inventory of the Historic buildings since 1929.

The largest church of the city east Our-Lady-of-the-Peace , remarkable for its immense stained glass which constitutes the frontage of it. It was built in 1959.
