Arnoul de Chocques
Arnoul Malecorne , so known under the name of Arnoul de Roeux (of the name of a castle of Hainaut). Originating in the village of Chocques, in the Flanders S, was the illegitimate son of a clerk. He was Latin patriarch of Jerusalem of 1112 with 1118.
He began his religious career in Normandy, where he was the tutor of Cecile († 1126), girl of William the Conqueror. With the call of Urbain II with the Council of Clermont, it took the cross. His/her Emma niece married Eustace de Grenier, count de Sidon and lord of Césarée, one of the most powerful lords of the kingdom. With died of Baudouin Ier, Arnoul was one of the principal craftsmen of the accession Baudouin of the Borough on the throne. He died shortly after.
