Arnaud of Vogue

Arnaud of Sailed , born in 1904 and deceased in 1988, said colonel Colomb , resistant, president of Saint-Gobain (1953 - 1969), mayor of Boulleret.

It is one of the large characters of Bourges and of the Cher. It is resulting from a very old family since " are found; Vogue " as of 1084.

It takes part in the Campagne of Dunkirk since 1940, and it is very early that it engages in the Résistance. In April 1944, he becomes the commander of the French Forces of the interior for the Dear Nord, and he succeeds in federating various formations of resistance. It is the case for example FFI, 1 {{er}} IH or ftp.

The September 6th 1944 in the morning, close to Menetou-Living room, the colonel Colomb is prevented that the German army left Bourges. It gives the order to make converge towards Bourges the massed men of the maquis with Menetou but also with Ivoy-the-Pre, helped by men of the 4th Battalion of parachutists. They are joined by the FTPF of the Colonel Hubert. The catch of Bourges was relatively easy: some skirmishes oppose to the neighborhoods of the city the resistant ones and some German soldiers, who end up going. The evening of September 6th, the Colonel Colomb makes placard on the walls of the city, a text intended for Berruyers:

“the occupation of your city by the enemy ended on September 6th, 1944 (...). Your city was released by the Free French Army with the assistance of the 4th Battalion of French parachutists. After long a four years nightmare, the enemy and his assistants escaped. ”

After war, he is the founder of the weekly magazine, " the Voice of Sancerrois ". Thereafter, there remains committed in the local action, he is mayor of Boulleret, a mandate which he occupies 50 years, unanimously appreciated, he is in many intercommunity associations. But Arnaud de Vogüe' is also a businessman and a large industrialist. He is president of Saint-Gobain between 1953 and 1969.
