Arnaldo Forlani

Arnaldo Forlani (born the December 8th 1925 with Pesaro -) was President of the Italian Council October 18th 1980 with the May 26th 1981. He was member of the Italian Christian Democrat. Elected official appointed as of 1958, he was Foreign Minister of 1976 to 1979. He succeeded in 1989 Ciriaco de Mita as leader of cd. He was considered, with Bettino Craxi and Giulio Andreotti, like one of the Italian politicians most influential of decade 80.

He had to testify, within the framework of the investigation Mani pulite , on the illegal financing of the parties. His intervention where he declared, shaken tremors and the dribble with the lips “ I do not remember ” (Not ricordo), with questions about the financing of his party, remained like the image symbol of the end of an Italian political generation. ----
