Arms nonlethal

A arms nonlethal , also called sub-lethal or stun , is a Arme conceived so that the target is not not killed or wounded heavily. This type of weapon is mainly used for the Maintenance of law and order (dispersion of riot S) and the self-defense.

One gathers under this name of the weapons designed as without long-term effect within the framework of a normal use (in the actual position of knowledge). However, like any instrument, they can be the source of accidents (the target can be done badly - to even commit suicide - while falling, it can make an heart attack or an allergy, etc) or be misused (intensity and too long exposure time) and thus remain weapons, i.e. dangerous objects.

Their relative harmlessness however makes debate. By making it possible to neutralize an individual more easily and less dangeureusement than by employing the conventional methods, the nonlethal weapons are shown to support a more frequent recourse to the force, radicalizing confrontation between the protagonists with the detriment of the negotiation or the dialog. The nonlethal weapons are also pointed finger for their employment diverted like instrument of Torture.

Rubber balls

From small Gun S or Revolver S draw from the Munition S of rubber of small Caliber. The Israeli army uses rubber balls since its rifles of attack. In this case, the projectiles are equipped with an important energy and can wound seriously, in particular with short range.

Flashball

The armed Israeli with Gaza and the British Armée in Ulster were the first to use it. It was also diffused in the National police force French in an enough mediatized way. The flashball sends two flexible rubber balls of forty millimetres in diameter.

Electric weapons

The Gun with electric impulse (To pack): it neutralizes the adversary by managing to him an electric shock of very strong tension but of low power. Is presented in the form of weapons of contact (case or bludgeon) and of remote weapons (wire projection with very short range). These weapons can also be used aboard airliner, where the use of current firearms would involve considerable risks for the apparatus.

Gas

The paralyzing Gas S or the Teargas S, generally presented bends some for a use with the contact, or out of grenade for a use against crowd, and used in particular by the police force. They are appeared as gases or irritating freezing which plug the victim and cause feelings of burn on the level of the eyes and respiratory tracts. If the detonation of the teargas grenades is relatively weak, it can however seriously wound a person who would hold it with the hand at the time of the explosion (damage being able to go until an amputation). The risks of crises of allergy by the asthmatic people are also particularly important.

Amée American currently develops guns with sounds.

Water

In quantity and under pressure, it pushes back and gene displacements. It is thus used against crowd.

Electromagnetic waves

Certain frequencies can be absorptive by living tissue, with badly known but potentially stun effects. Research is always in hand, in particular for the control of crowd.

The projectiles with pulsated energy use the emission of electromagnetic impulses generated by a Laser which, in contact with the target, evaporate surface and create an minor amount of explosive plasma; it results from it a sound shock wave which strikes the target while the electromagnetic Impulsion affects the nervous cells and causes an intense feeling of pain.

The American Armée developed the Active Denial System, system of nonlethal weapon with directed energy (microwaves) which sends waves to a frequency of 95 Ghz, which makes it possible to produce a feeling of burn at the target.
