Armorial bearings of Wales

The armorial bearings of the Principality of Wales are the Armoiries used by the Prince de Galles.

Contrary to the Royal Armorial bearings of England and the Scotland in their respective countries, they were not often used with the Wales as a national symbol. Recently, they start to be increasingly seen with the four corners of the country, without the crown.

Description

These armorial bearings can be blasonnées: quartered of gold and mouths, with four lions of the one with the other armed and lampassés of azure . They are based on the weapons carried by Llywelyn Large the, prince Welsh of the 13th century.
