The armorial bearings of Quebec , province Canadian of French origin , were adopted in their current form in 1939 in order to represent historical realities of the Quebec. The original version of the armorial bearings went back to 1868.

Heraldic

Blasonnement of the weapons of the province of Quebec:
Tiercé in fasce:
d' azure, to three flower-of-read of gold;
of mouths, with a gold leopard armed and lampassé of azure;
d' but, with a maple branch with sugar with triple breaks into leaf of sinople to the veins of the field.

History

The first armorial bearings of Quebec go back to 1868. They were made up of the same elements except for the crown and the currency. Moreover, they had only two flowers of lily.

In 1939, the secretary of the province recommends the adoption of new weapons in order to to make in conformity with the historical data and heraldic of the province; that the various ministries and services of the administration of this province employ only one and single blazon; that it is convenient that this blazon is represented on all the official publications . Following a study of the Héraldiste Maurice Embroiderer, the government of Quebec chooses these armorial bearings. The decision is caught without same referring about it to the British authorities, like made the other provinces. The Décret is adopted the December 9th 1939.
