Armor-plated Division

The armor-plated division is a division mainly made up of terrestrial vehicles Blindé S including one great number of tanks. Its employment was fundamental in strategy and military organization as from the Second world war.

Germany

  • Word Pulk : Evolution of the structure of the division armor-plated in vaster autonomous bodies. Appearance on the Russian Face, in 1943, decision of the OKWH taking into account the extent of the crossed geographical areas.

France

  • the battle of Montcornet: May 14th 1940, Charles de Gaulle was indicated to order the news the 4th division armoured (5 000 men and 85 tanks) with which it carried out a counter-attack towards Montcornet, in the North-East of Laon. It was the only allied counter-attack of the countryside of France which managed to push back the German troops.

American armor-plated division

US (Div Bl) a manpower of 11.000 men has. It includes/understands 195 Chars average, 77 light tanks, of the armor-plated Infanterie and the units of support. American name is Armored Division
