Armin Van Buuren

Armin van Buuren is famous a DJ and producing Dutch. Born the December 25th 1976 with Leyde in Holland, it was always fascinated by the Musique, thus following the example of his/her father who listened to many musical genres. Parallel to its love for the music, Armin started to be interested by technology and the Ordinateur S.

It started to make music at the 14 years age by buying its first sampler and by borrowing the synthetizer of his father. During its adolescence it came to the school with its ear-phones stuck to the ears, most of the time by listening to music of Jean Michel Jarre and Ben Liebrand. As it had a large respect for Ben Liebrand, it sent an extract of its productions to him which was accepted with enthusiasm. In return, Ben learned much in Armin on the manner of producing and of mixing.

The passion of Armin for the mix progressed. It started to work like DJ in a called local box Nexus, finished its secondary education in 1995 and started to study the right to the university. While waiting, he moved his equipment of his room towards “true” studio. The first pieces which it produced in its new studio were inter alia Blue Fear , Touch Me , and Communication . Many other pieces all followed, with a different kind. Armin does not like to be limited to a particular style by marking its music. A sentence which it often uses is: don' T Be prisoner off your own style (do not be prisoner of your own style). Armin likes to describe its style musical like euphoriant, melody and energy. Because of the fact that Armin is very ambitious, it did many things at the same time: to study, produce and be DJ. He believes sincerely that the only way to be able to make such a thing is to like what one does. Armin wants to achieve its dream which is “to do what he likes by taking the most pleasure possible to do it”. Recently, Armin worked hard on its career of DJ by making an average of more than two evenings by weekend. According to him, “the fans and the public are the most important things for a DJ” because he strongly believes in the importance of his fans with which he signs autographs on about all: vinyls, tee-shirt, left the body and (what he likes more) cellphones.

Armin, producer

A remarkable characteristic of Armin is that it had always its own studio and works by itself most of the time. It used forever of engineer who can influence the music.

Since 1995, Armin left many pieces on various labels by increasing its success. Its first great success was Blue Fear on Cyber Records. This “model of Trance Euro” made it return in the U.K. Chart (classification of the United Kingdom). Communication was left on the same label, causing serious damage with Ibiza in summer 1999. After having signed at AM: PM, this piece entered in position #18 of the U.K. Chart in 2000!

At the beginning of 1999, Armin launched its own Armind label with United Recordings. The first exit, Gig - One , was received. The second exit, Touch Me under the name Rising Star was signed with the Ministry off Sound, in the United Kingdom, before the recording is appeared. When the third exit of Armin Gimmick - Free was signed with R&S Records, it became clearly that Armin had envisaged to emphasize its label in one nothing time.

It left 4 Elements under the name of Gaia family on Captivating Sounds, a under-label of Warner. Making team with DJ Tiësto, two new projects had been born; Major League - Wonder Where You Are? left on Blackhole and Alibi - Eternity on Armind. Eternity knew success in many boxes and classifications. It was signed with the label of Paul van Dyk: Vandit Records. Another great collaboration followed; with Corsten Ferry, Armin recorded a front-classic named Exhale for the album of System F. Left into individual, this piece received the gold disc in less than one month!

In 2000, Armin began its own series of compilations Armin van Buuren. It tries to seek the perfect balance between Progressive, Techno and Trance. AVB 001 - BASIC Instinct was sold with more than 10.000 specimens and contains the well-known remix of Moogwai - Violated by Armin.

Perpetuous Dreamer - The Sound Of Goodbye was the first title added on AVB 002. This piece used the Dutch classifications in June 2001 in position #26. Armin van Buuren 003 - In Motion on August 6th, 2001 is appeared. This album contains the true sound trance and is very popular in the United States.

Armin remixé many large pieces like Wamdue Project - King Of My Castle , Madison Avenue - Don' T Call Me Baby and Gouryella - Walhalla (all in 1999 and 2000). Its remix recent is Solid Sessions - Janeiro and Shane - Too Late To Turn . Because of the success from these mix, there is a great request for remix but it refused some much because he concentrated on his album.

Armin left its first album lately: 76. It contains collaborations with artists like Justine Suissa, Airwave and Ray Wilson. A great number of largest the hits of Armin are on this album, like the remix of Burned With Desire with the singer Justine Suissa. Its new album published in August 2005 (France, England, and Germany) " Shivers" is quite simply superb. On Shivers, the new individual one of Armin, one hears well the difference of its outstanding of its vis-a-vis 76. That comes owing to the fact that it has invests in a new material (what is very audible). To test its machines, Armin has initially creates a title which is entitled: Birth Off Year Angel, it is Raz Nitzan, which had taken part in the project of Perpetuous Dreamer on " The Sound Off Goodbye" who added words on the music. " Birth off year Angel" became " Shivers" titrate éponyme album. As on his compilation or one can follow his musical evolution in Trance/Progressive, Armin has a very diversified style: for example the song number 04 of the album " Shivers" entitled " Golddigger" sound Electro Rock'n'roll… The dermnière song of the album étée composed in collaboration with Jan Vayne at the time of the gathering Sensation White. " Serenity" is thus the anthem of the electro/traditional festival. While speaking about Anthem, Armin composed a new song for a Dutch bank " Postbanck". In State Off Trance

In March 2001, Armin launched its own radio operator show, named off has State Trance , on radio directed Dutchwoman electro ID&T. In January 2005, this one is turned over towards a commercial style hip-hop/and took again the name SlamFM. Armin could continue its show but later in the evening, and this one would be tiny room to a one hour length. It then moved towards the webradio trance ETN, where it diffused episodes 183 to 186. In State Of Trance was then repurchased by The Radio Department and is now diffused on the webradio trance of Digitally Imported although it is retransmis on certain radio operators FM and of the webradios. In this two hours weekly show, he plays only the most recent pieces: a selection of the best pieces Trance and Progressive. The fact that Armin always puts the name of the artists and the titles of the pieces on its Internet site makes this show single and very popular, as much for the DJ that for the simple listeners. Each week, has State Of Trance becomes more popular, thanks to Internet. At the 16 years age, Armin lodged already its own radio operator show on a local station; it is happy to have again its emission which enables him to diffuse what it likes and to be distinct from the different one.

Its series of has State Of Trance gave rise to compilations éponymes which even take again the best pieces of its show chosen by him and by its listeners. There exist four versions to date: has off State Trance 2004 , has off State Trance 2005 , has State Trance off 2006 and has State Of Trance 2007 .

Armin, DJ

Armin began its career of DJ to the box Nexus (Leyde). It is there that he learned how to play of the long sets: regularly from six to seven hours. During school vacations, it mixed more than four times per week, and forever ceased liking that. It is a real pleasure of seeing how crowd reacts to the various pieces and it finds exciting very to be able to fill the track with dance. In 1999, it met Dave Lewis which introduced it in England and in the United States. It is at this time that really its career of DJ while entering signal 100 of DJ magazine in November 2001 with position 27 began! To date, it mixed in more than 25 various countries and according to its fans, it is known for its intelligent but raising music. Often, you can find it in the great festivals of summer. It recently mixed a one 9 hours duration set for Dancetheater with the Hedge (Netherlands). In the United Kingdom, you can regularly see it with the Passion (where it was resident in 2002), with the Godskitchen, and the Gatecrasher (4 hours sets), with the Slinky, Peach and the Golden delicious.

Armin made a Gatecrasher round through New Zealand and Australia. It was resident in the United States, Glow (Washington, cd.) and mixed with Boston, Denver and New York. At the time of the summer 2002, it was resident with Godskitchen with Ibiza. In October 2002, Armin was classified n°5 in the DJ Mag 100, and in the classification 2003, it is 3rd. Summer 2006, he was the resident of the Armada evenings to the Amnesia (Ibiza). In the Signal 100 DJ Mag 2006, Armin have for the first time of its career DJ classified second, détrônant the mythical DJ Tiësto. In 2007, it takes down more the high step of the podium. It becomes one of the most popular djs of planet.
