Armand de Madaillan

Armand de Madaillan de Lesparre (May 28th 1652 - February 21st 1738) is more known under one of its titles, marquis de Lassay

Biography

He is the son of Louis de Madaillan and Suzanne de Vipart.

Aide-de-camp of large the Cop in 1672, he becomes owner of the castle of Lassay by transfer of his father the March 30th 1676. , Friend man of letters of the libertines of the XVIIe and XVIIIe centuries, it became acquainted with Madam de Maintenon at the time of the living rooms which her husband held, the poet Scarron. Armand de Madaillan was an enough outstanding character to be maltreated by Saint-Simon in his memories. He had an extremely agitated life: its adventures defrayed the chronicle and made it call " the Don Juan of the Great century " . He wrote a work of anecdotes and maxims entitled Recueil of various things . He died in 86 years the February 21st 1738 and went to join his three wives with the priory of the Bénédictines of Lassay.
