Armand Panigel

Armand Panigel , born the October 15th 1920 with Bush (Turkey) and dead the December 28th 1995, is a Musicologue and Cinéma tologist French. It is also an historical figure of the radio and television Frenchwomen, in the fields of the classical music and the cinema.

Biography

After studies with the French College of the Cairo (Egypt), he studies the right and mathematics at the University of Montpellier.

He begins in his career as a Producteur from radio and films to the Cairo, of 1939 with 1944.

Man of radio very known in the years 1950,1960 and 1970, it creates, produced and animates during 37 years, of 1946 with 1984, on France Musique, the emission headlight the platform of criticisms of discs (with in particular Antoine Goléa, Jacques Bourgeois and Jean Roy), as well as other emissions.

He founds and directs moreover, of 1947 with 1964, the review Disques , a review of criticisms of traditional discs. In parallel, UNESCO charges it with indexing, in order to publish catalogs, all the recordings existing in the world of certain large type-setters, to start with Bach, Beethoven and Chopin. It is also, in 1946, the Vice-president founder of the Académie Charles-Cross-country race.

In this same optics of safeguard of the cultural heritage, it carries out in parallel a career of editor, while being in particular Directeur of collections at Control-Cassette-Video , where it founds the Memory of the cinema , and Directing founder of the Rééditions of recordings of the public domain (78 turns) of classical music, dedicated to Memory of the music .

In addition to this very dense course already, Armand Panigel in particular occupied the following functions: general President-director of the Editions and impressions of French Cinematography (1962-64), President of the Commission of advances on receipts of the cinema (1975-76), Member of the board of directors of the Association of the authors of films , Director of CD collections of classical music (1993-95). Its career was rewarded by its promotion under Officer for the Ordre for Arts and the Letters.

He is also the author of several reference books on the music and the cinema.
