Armand De Decker
Armand De Decker is bachelor of law (ULB). Lawyer, he is a Belgian politician, originating in Uccle in Région of Brussels. He is the son of the painter Luc De Decker and the brother of the writer Jacques De Decker, secretary perpetual of the royal Académie of language and literature Frenchwomen of Belgium. His wife, Jacqueline Rousseaux-With Decker, are appointed regional inhabitant of Brussels.
It becomes liberal Député , very young person, around thirty years, general secretary of the liberal party. He was president of the Parlement of the Area of Brussels twice, then, from July 14th, 1999 to July 20th, 2004, he was president of the Sénat. It is a convinced royalist who does not hesitate to defend monarchy publicly.
Joining the cores frontist of the Reforming Movement, Armand De Decker is the author of a disputed liberal leaflet. its topic was " Brussels must remain with the Inhabitants of Brussels! ". In July 2004, following the departure of Louis Michel with the European commission, Armand De Decker is named by the King Minister for the Development co-operation.
Armand De Decker is also burgomaster of Uccle since December 2006 (prevented until July 2007).
It becomes again President of the Senate, on July 12th, 2007, after having resigned of its post of minister. By this resignation, he becomes effective burgomaster of Uccle.
At the beginning of November 2007, king Albert charges the president with the Room Hermann Van Rompuy and the president of the Senate Armand De Decker of " to take an initiative in order to start a dialog on the continuation of the balanced development of our institutions and a reinforcement of cohesion enters the communautés" , according to the terms of the royal official statement. Accordingly, Armand De Decker proposed to set up a " National college for the dialog of Communautés" composed royal Police chiefs.
