Armand Blanquet of Chayla
Armand Blanquet of Chayla , vice French admiral, born in 1759 with Marvejols (Lozere), died in 1826.
It was distinguished in the war from America, ordered a division of the French fleet, in the forwarding of Egypt, and showed a heroic courage with the battles of Aboukir; but having seen its control in this badly appreciated day, it withdrew service (1803); it accepted Louis XVIII the title of count. -----
