Armand Baville

Arnaud Baville is a Brigadier general French, (° December 11th 1757 - † October 24th 1813 following its wounds received on August 27th during the Bataille of Lubnitz.

State of service

February 25th, 1776, it enters like soldier to the regiment of Bourbonnais, fact countryside to America as sergeant (1780-1783) and is with the head office of Yorktown.

In 1791, he becomes second lieutenant

April 1st, 1792, it is promoted adjudant major with the 4th battalion of the volunteers of the Jura, and major on April 28th, then all at once lieutenant-colonel, it is used for the Armée with the Rhine.

  • June 13rd 1795: Brigadier general to the Armed with the coasts of Cherbourg.

In 1797, it is reformed but replaced in activity on August 16th, 1798 and is named with the armed with the Rhine-and-Moselle, then of Sambre-and-Meuse, to return to that of the Rhine-and-Moselle in 1799 and to be useful to with it until 1801. Holder then of various commands inside, it joined the Large army in 1806 and fights with Pülstück. Again inside until 1813, it allowed with the retirement, but is recalled to order almost at once the place of Pirna in Germany, employee finally with the defense of Magdeburg. Wounded in Lübnitz, on August 27th, 1813, he dies on October 24th at the hospital of Magdeburg.
