Arkose

A arkose is a Sedimentary rock detrital terrigenous made up of quartz (up to 60%), of Feldspath (at least 25%), often of some Mica S and cement made up of Argile (approximately 15%).

The monolith of Ayers Rock is composed of arkose.

Layer

The arkose often meets close to the Granite S and from the Gneiss because it comes from their deterioration.
