Arkheia

Arkheia is a historical Revue, subtitled: History, Memory of the Twentieth century in South-west .

Created in 1999 by the historian max Lagarrigue with Montauban (Tarn-et-Garonne), the review Arkheia is published by association “Arkheia. History, Memory of the Twentieth century in South-west”. It gathers a collective of Universitaire S, of Enseignant S, student S, Historien S independent and Journaliste S which projects to revisit the history of the XXe century through the prism of the regional history.

Mixing national history and regional, the review tries to approach, in the form of files or articles of research, of the new subjects or under a new angle. Great War with the Second world war, without forgetting the great events of the Post-war period, Arkheia attempts to explain to its readers the history which marked Great South-west. Calling upon French and foreign specialists, Arkheia gives also the occasion to the actors and witnesses of this history to deliver their testimony. It devoted several important files on the Gaullisme and the antigaullism in South-west, as well as a file on “Vichy, State occitan? ” coordinated by Emmanuel Roy Ladurie and Middle-class Guillaume with collaboration inter alia Michel Roquebert, historian of the Catharisme. The last published number is devoted to the “Tondues of 1944”.
