Arkadi Chvétsov

Arkadi Dimitriévitch Chvétsov (in Russian АркадийДмитриевичШвецов , Shvetsov in the English transcription) * January 13rd/January 24th 1892 with Nijni Sergui close to Iekaterinbourg; † March 19th 1953 with Moscow) was a Soviet manufacturer of driving aeronautics.

Chvétsov developed in 1923 with its Collectif the engine of plane (V12) M-8 RAM. It turned however very soon to the radial engines. In 1925, the production of the radial engine with 5 M-11 cylinders started. It used in first in Soviet Union aluminum for the cylinder heads. This type of engine after many modifications was still manufactured in the years 1980. It equipped amongst other things the Polikarpov Po-2 and was one of the engines of generally used plane.

In 1934 Chvétsov founded the company Aviadvigatel of which he was the chief engineer and who worked narrowly with the Perm Engine Company. It built during the Second world war engines of plane derived from foreign engines (Gnome and the Rhone) as the ASh-62 which equipped the Antonov Year-2, ASh-73TK (intended for the Tupolev You-4) and the ASh-82 which equipped inter alia the Lavotchkine La-5.

Chvétsov was four times prize winner of the Prix of the State (1942, 1943,1946 and 1948) was decorated about Héros with socialist work ausgezeichnet.
