Events
Worsen Roman
- July 3rd: Victorious with the battles of Turkey-red cotton (today Edirne), Constantin I {{er}} drives out Licinius Byzance.
- July: Victoire of the fleet of Crispus on Licinius with the battle of the Hellespont.
- September 18th: Final Victoire of Constantin I {{er}} on Licinius with Chrysopolis, close to Chalcédoine. Licinius, the preceding emperor of the East, internee with Thessalonique, is assassinated shortly after. Constantin I {{er}} becomes “ totius orbis imperator ”.
- Beginning of work with Byzance in order to make the future capital of the empire of it (see Constantinople).
- Constantin reorganizes the army and increases the number of German further. It abolishes the Praetorian guard and substitutes to him the assembled guard ( scholae palatinae ). Two new functions are created, those of Master of cavalry and Master of infantry, intended to direct the reservists.
- Council of Nicomédie against the Ariens and the Colluthiens, then council of Césarée in Palestine.
- Council of Gangres (Paphlagonie) or the Church “tolerates” slavery.
- Convocation by Constantin I {{er}} for the following year of a council with Nicée.

The close East
- With died of Tiridate III, the Arménie knows one century of wars and anarchy. Its successors, such prince Tiran, are often cruel princes whose control draws up against them the catholicos and the Armenian nobility, the nakharars. Arménie is constantly in war, sometimes allied with Byzance, sometimes allied with the Perse. The country survives only thanks to some noble families, like that of the Mamikonian, which provides large war leaders.
