History

Birth of a large club (1985-1990)

In 1985, some impassioned American football found the club of Argonautes which begins its existence while collaborating with the Aix Université Club (AUC). Under the impulse of Bernard Bonnet the club of Argonautes becomes a reality and carries out its beginnings in money Helmet at the end of 1986. At the end of this first season Argonautes gain their first title and reach the French elite. The club reaches the play-offs as of the season 1987, in quarter-of-finale it beats the finalist of the previous year, Spartacus of Paris, before losing in semi-final vis-a-vis Paris Jets.

The club forms already part of best of France, in 1988 Argonautes still reach the semi-finals, before playing their first final in 1989. In 1990, the club is once again present in play-offs, after having lost twice in play-offs during the last years vis-a-vis the Beavers of Paris, the club inhabitant of Aix beats finally the Parisian club and gains its first title in elite. With this victory Argonautes become the first club of province to being titrated in elite.

The reign on the elite (1991-2004)

Following their title of 1990, Argonautes then begin their reign on the championship of France. They gain the title in 1991, 1992, 1995, 1998, 1999, 2001, 2002 and play the final in 1993, 1994, 1996, 1997, 2000, 2003, 2004, that is to say 16 finales of sharpened and 8 gained titles. In 1999, Argonautes are the first club of province to receive the final.

The club is also present on the European scene, it takes part for the first time in the Eurobowl in 1991 (2 defeats in 2 matches). At the time of the countryside 1992, Argonautes loses in semi-final vis-a-vis the Amsterdam Crusaders, before gained match for the 3rd place vis-a-vis the Swede of 86ers Uppsala. In 1993, Argonautes do not pass the hens (victory 106-0 vis-a-vis the Leuven Lions and demolished 26-54 vis-a-vis the Amsterdam Crusaders). The successful team her best European countryside in 1996, in quarterfinal it overrides the Germans of Düsseldorf Panther after prolongation, then demolishes the Frogs de Legnano (Italy) in semi-final, but loses final 21-14 vis-a-vis the Blue Devils of Hamburg. Argonautes finish out of hens at the time of the edition 1999, then in quarterfinal in 2000 and 2002, and finally out of hen in 2003.

During this period, Argonautes gain also three titles in the championship Juniors (1993, 1994,1995), a title of Juniors (2004) and a title out of Flag Football (1991).

A new era (2005-present)

In 2005 after one average season (5 victories and 5 defeats), Argonautes are stopped by the Spartans of Amiens in semi-final. The team carries out good a season 2006 punctuated by a new final (demolished vis-a-vis the Flash of Courneuve). This same year the club finds the compétiton Européenne with EFAF Cup, with two defeats it is classified third of their group. In 2007 the club does not take part in the play-offs for the first time of its history.
