Argo SpA

ARGO S.p.A . of holding is an Italian company created by the Morra brothers.

It is in 1980 that Valerio and Pierangelo Morra repurchase, together, company MBS SpA, of Reggio Emilia, specialized in the production of gears and transmission system for the sector of agricultural mechanization.

In 1987, they repurchase the company Pegoraro de Vicenza.

In 1988, they create Argo S.p.A. to make of it their holding in which they will preserve the participations of the various acquired companies.

In 1994, Argo SpA repurchases the majority of Landini established with Fabbrico.

In 1995, Argo SpA via Landini, repurchases Valpadana, Italian specialist in the tractors of small size.

In 2000, Argo SpA repurchases the Sep companies and Laverda. Sep is a specialist in the small equipment and Laverda the leader in the field of the reaping-machines threshing-machines. The resumption of Laverda, belonging previously to the group FIAT - CNH, is imposed by the European commission of competition, to prevent that FIAT-CNH, after the repurchase of American Case Corp, does not have a dominant position on the worldwide market. FIAT - CNH is seen also constrained to yield the factories ex McCormick of Doncaster in the United Kingdom and St Dizier in France.

In 2001, Argo SpA takes again the credits McCormick.

The group Argo SpA is the third Italian manufacturer of agricultural machinery behind FIAT - CNH and SAME.
