Acid-α-amino. The arginine is a Amino-acide aliphatic diamine, polar. The grouping guanidine confers on the molecule a strong alkalinity: phi 10,7. Very abundant in basic proteins associated with the nucleic acids.
The arginine has a grouping guanidyle which releases from urea by enzymatic cleavage.
Used in medicine for its properties:

- hypoamomniémiante (releases from the Ornithine which can accept Ammoniac).
