Argeliers
Argeliers is a common French, located in the department of the Aude and the area Languedoc-Roussillon. Its inhabitants is called Argeliésois.
Geography
The village is located at the foot of the first hills in the north of the plain of Narbonne. It is bordered in the east by the Canal of the South which makes a loop penetrating almost in the village. A port is arranged there for the barges of the estivants. In the North-West, the pech of Bize rises forming a natural border with Bize-Minervois. In the south, the secondary road called " minervoise" serves the various entries of the village.

Personalities related to the commune
Marcellin Albert is born in 1851 in Argeliers, it there Marie in 1873. He is regarded as the leader of the Révolte of the vine growers of Languedoc in 1907. A place of the village bears its name today. He dies in 1921 and is buried with the cemetery of the village.
