Areva turn
The turn Areva (in the past turn FIAT until 1995, then turn Framatome ) is a Gratte-ciel of offices located in the district of businesses of Defense, in France (precisely place of the Cupola, with Courbevoie,).
Built in 1974, it is 184 m high. It is about the second higher tower of Defense, after the turn Total. It is about one of the emblematic towers of the 2nd generation of towers of Defense.
It takes the form of a black parallelepiped. Its frontage is covered with Granite sinks, its windows are fume and widen with altitude to limit the effect height. The architects would have been inspired for this form by the monoliths presented in film “2001, the odyssey of space” of Stanley Kubrick.
The preliminary draft envisaged a twin tower which should have been built with the site of current the turn Total.
The site of the tower Areva in the layout plan of Defense had as a code name " CB1".
