Areas of Denmark
The Denmark is divided into 5 areas, which replaced the amter starting from January 1st 2007,
The areas are the following ones:

Jutland-of-North ( Nordjylland ) made up of the amt of the Jutland-of-North and part of the amt of Viborg with an central administration with Aalborg. 11 municipalities. 8.020 km ².
- Jutland-Exchange ( Midtjylland ) made up of the amter of Ringkjøbing and Aarhus as well as part of the amter of Viborg and Vejle. The area is managed with Viborg. 19 municipalities. 13.053 km ².
- Denmark-of-South ( Syddanmark ) made up of the amter of Fyns, Ribe and of the Jutland-of-South as well as part of the amt of Vejle. The area is managed with Vejle. 22 municipalities. 12.191 km ².
- Hovedstaden made up of the amter of Copenhagen and Frederiksborg, of the communes of Copenhagen and Frederiksberg as well as the regional commune of Bornholm. The area is managed with Hillerød. 29 municipalities. 2.561 km ².
- Sjælland made up of the amter of Roskilde, Storstrøms and the Sjælland-Westerner. The area is managed with Sorø. 17 municipalities. 7.273 km ².
