Area of Valparaíso

The Región de Valparaíso of the Chile is the Région V . It is on the same latitude as Santiago of Chile but in edge of the Ocean Pacifique. It is located between the Región de Coquimbo at North, the Argentine as well as the Región Metropolitana in the East and the Región del Libertador General Bernardo O' Higgins in the South.

Valparaíso is the main port of the country and Viña del Mar its beach. Administratively, the Easter Island is attached there as well as the island Juan Fernandez (the island Robinson Crusoè).

The area is turned towards the services, but also the production of wine and fishing. The port of Valparaíso is the principal maritime door of the country. In the past, it was the obligatory stop for the boats having passed the Cape Horn.

Attractions

The area benefits from its pleasant climate, tens of beaches extremely appreciated and very attended as well by the Chilean ones as the foreign tourists, mainly Argentinian.

Viña del Mar is also called “Ciudad Jardin”. Indeed, before the recent development of new districts of dwelling, facts of turns in edge of sea, the city was particularly appreciated for its parks whose main thing is Quinta Vergara. It is in this place that each year the international festival of the song of Viña del Mar takes place. This festival, recognized in the past lost little by little in quality, the singers coming before very launching their last album more than to take part in a true contest of songs.

In the north of Viña, the seaside resorts of Reñaca and Concon are, appreciated by the young jet set of Santiago.

Easter Island

With more than 3000 km of the Chilean coasts is the Easter Island or Rapa Harmed . The island is known for its giant statues planted vis-a-vis the Ocean. The island is atteignable since Santiago of Chile in the plane or since Valparaíso in boat.

Island Robinson Crusoé

A group of islands is to a few hundred kilometers of the Chilean coasts. It is the Archipel Juan Fernández. In this archipelago is the Île Robinson Crusoé, famous for the stay of this man in company of Friday . The island can be visited either by boat or in the small two-motor plane from the continent.
