Ardre
The Ardre is a French river , Affluent of the Vesle and thus tributary of a tributary of the the Seine by the Vesle, then by the Aisne and finally by the Oise.
Geography
It occurs in the Regional natural park of the Montagne de Reims, then runs in the department of the the Marne of which it crosses the Western part while following a direction going of south-east towards the North-West. It finishes its course with Fismes, while being thrown in the Vesle.
Hydrology
The flow of Ardre was observed during one 37 years period (1969-2005), with Fismes, locality of the department of the Marne located at the level of its confluence with the Vesle. The catchment area of the river is of 297 km ².
The interannual medium flow or module of the river with Fismes is of 1,56 m ³ a second.
Ardre present of the seasonal fluctuations of flow little marked, at least compared with the average of the rivers French, with high waters of winter-spring carrying the average flow monthly on a level located between 1,95 and 2,54 m ³ a second, from December to April included (with a light in February maximum), and low waters of end of be-beginning of autumn, from July to October included, with a fall of the monthly medium flow up to 0,68-0,70 m ³ in September and August, which remains high.
With the low water level, the VCN3 can fall until 0,28 m ³, in the event of dry quinquennial period, that is to say 280 liters a second, which is not yet severe. The VCN3 is the past minimal quantity or minimal flow over three days consecutive.
Contrary to Vesle, the risings can be rather important, taking into account the low medium flow and of the smallness of its basin. The QIX 2 and QIX 5 or calculated flows of biennial and quinquennial rising are worth respectively 9 and 14 m ³ a second. The QIX 10 or calculated flow of decennial rising is of 17 m ³ a second, the QIX 20 of 21 m ³, while the QIX 50 is worth 25 m ³ a second (see note).
The recorded maximum instantaneous flow with Fismes during this period, was of 28,6 m ³ a second on March 26th, 1988, while the value maximum day laborer was of 22,5 m ³ a second the same day. By comparing the first of these values with the scale of the QIX of the river, it appears that this rising was more important than the calculated rising cinquantennale QIX 50, and thus exceptional.
Ardre is not a very abundant river. The Lame of water past in its catchment area is of 166 millimetres annually (identical to Vesle), which is extremely lower than the overall average of France all confused basins, and also to the average of the basins of the Aisne (260 millimetres), and of the the Seine (more or less 240 millimetres). The specific Débit of the river (or Qsp) posts of this fact a weak figure: 5,2 liters a second and per square kilometer of basin.
