Ardito Desio
the count Ardito Desio (April 18th 1897, Palmanova - December 12th 2001) was a Explorateur, Alpiniste, Géologue and Cartographe Italy N. Between 1926 and 1940 it carried out a series of geological studies in Libya, becoming one of the first to find Pétrole in this country. In 1990, it established a scientific base on the mount Everest.
It led the Italian Expédition which reached the top of the K2 the July 31st 1954. The two mountaineers who really reached the top are Lino Lacedelli and Achille Compagnoni.
