Architectures
Architectures is a series Documentaire proposed by Frederic Campain and Richard Copans, diffused on Arte since 1995.
This series of films of 26 minute S is devoted to the most outstanding achievements of the Modern architecture, of the 20th century until last creations of the great architects of today. One finds the principle of the emission Palettes which was used besides as reference to the beginning of Architectures .
Each film deals with only one building chosen for its exemplary aspect, for the role of stake which he played or which he plays in the evolution of architecture. The building is explored basic in roof, peeled since the foundations to the covers. A field work reveals simple practical matters and the way in which the architect answered it.
Observed until in its least recesses, work is in the center of film. When it is not the model which extracts the building from its context, it is framing or the sound effects. All is indeed thought to present it only vis-a-vis us, spectators. Empty corridors, no trace of life. Our glance on the object changes. Here also the comments are done only in voice-off. The rare interviews of the architects are it also except camera, a photograph acting as image.
