Archipelago of Chinijo

The archipelago of Chinijo is a small archipelago located at the north of the islands the Canaries. It is consisted of the islands Graciosa (only inhabited), Alegranza, Montaña Clara, Roque del Este and Roque del Oeste. The archipelago is attached to the commune of Teguise located on the island close to Lanzarote.

Since 1986 this archipelago became, at the same time as the northern coast of Lanzarote, a natural reserve. In 1994 the birds of this reserve obtained an additional special protection.
