Arboricolous

Arboricolous (of the Latin the arbor tree and the colo : to cultivate, to live) indicates what milked with the Arbre S: life in the trees or the culture of the trees: the Arboriculture.

Characteristics of the arboricolism

The animals of fauna living in a arboricolous Biotope have several characteristics:

  • long forelimbs + flexibility of the articulation of the Belt scapular (Sc),
  • shorter rear limbs + flexibility of the articulation of the pelvic belt (Sp),
  • opposable inches (hands and feet),
  • important angle between opposable inch and other phalanges (important for the Gripping),
  • long phalanges.

These characteristics relate to the mammals and mainly the primates: the Orang-outang, the Possum S, etc

The insects, reptiles, etc are not concerned.
