The grounds of the commune are sprinkled by the Gave d' Oloron (affluent of the Gave of Pau) and by its tributaries, the Lausset and the brook of Mousquère.
Cassou dou Mud, and the brook of Lescuncette, both affluents of the brook of Harcellane (tributary of Lausset), also cross the territory of the commune.

Toponymy

The toponym Araujuzon appears in the forms Araus-Jusoo (XIIIe century, Fors de Béarn), Araus-Juson (1487, register of the establishments of Béarn), Araujuson (1546, reformation of Béarn) and Feel-Martin d' Araujuzon (1609, insinuations of the diocese of Oloron).

History

Paul Raymond note which the commune counted a laic abbey, vassal of the Viscount of Béarn.
In 1385, Araujuzon counted 46 fires and depended on the Bailliage of Navarrenx. It was a dependence of the baronnie of Jasses.
