Araucana
The Araucana is a variety of Poule originating in the west coast of the South America, discovered in 1880 at the Indians Araucans (Chile).
It with the characteristic not to have a tail and to lay eggs blue-emerald. This last character makes that it is called the hen of Easter eggs
It is deprived of the last vertebrae coccygiennes thus of tail, that does not facilitate fecundation because the cock has evil to maintain its balance on hen.
Cheecks of ear which it door are controlled by a lethal gene in a pure state: there is obligatorily a mortality in egg for the chicks which are homozygotes for this character.
Exist in several colors white, blue gilded, wheat, gray beads, black, salmon silver plated, salmon gilded, gilded salmon.
The hen is good incubator. It is a race of flesh.
