Arashi

Arashi (嵐 meaning storm ) is a Boys band Japanese. It is composed of five members: Aiba Masaki, Jun Matsumoto, Kazunari Ninomiya, Ohno Satoshi and Sakurai Sho.

Musical career

The Arashi group made its beginnings the September 15th 1999 with Hawaii where it recorded its first individual A.RA.SHI . The group makes party of Johnny' S Entertainment whose parties amongst other things the NewS make, KAT-TUN and the Kanjani8.

Arashi covers a broad panel of style musical including R&B, the Hip Hop and other forms of pop music Amongst other things to be a popular group of idols in Japan, Arashi is also largely known through Asia and by the fans of J-pop of the whole world.

Johnny' S & Associates (that is to say Johnny' S) announced the beginning of the group on September 15th, 1999, by the means of a press conference on board a boat of cruising on the coasts of Honolulu to Hawaii. Arashi, which wants to say storm in French was chosen by Johnny' S Entertainment to represent the ambition of the group of " to create a storm in the world of the divertissement". Arashi is nowadays the only one of group of Johnny' S (having begun) which has a name written all in Kanji.

Their first individual A.RA.SHI , became the song topic of the 8th World cup of Volley ball, organized by Japan in 1999. They gained a great popularity by singing A.RA.SHI at the time of the opening ceremony on November 2nd, 1999. The individual one became a great success, being sold to million copies. From March 25th to April 30th, 2001, the group started its first round on the whole of the Japanese territory, l'" Arashi Spring Concert 2001". The round took place with Sendai, Osaka, Nagoya, Hokkaido, Fukuoka, Hiroshima, Kanazawa, Toyama and Tokyo, a performance without the preceding ones in 26 concerts. In March 2002, the group turned over to Hawaii, with a series of rounds " Stand Up Hawaï" for the fans.

In 2006, the individual ones and albums of the group left apart from Japan. Their album Arashic left to HongKong, in South Korea, Taiwan and also in Thailand. July 31st, 2006 the group embarked for the round " Jet Storm Tour" , destiny to promote their album with Taiwan in South Korea and Thailand, cities which later will belong to their Asian tour. The concert of Korea with take place thanks to the presence of the Korean fans who had gathered with the international airport of Incheon during the press conference of the group at the time of their round " Jet Storm". The concert which took place on November 12th, 2006 made of Arashi the first group of the Johnny' S Entertainment give a concert in South Korea. The sale of the tickets in the concert was done in one hour, and 150.000 people bought their tickets on line. In addition to their rounds, the group represented Japan at the time of the " Asia Song Festival" 2006, which took place in South Korea.

Since their beginning, Arashi left nine albums and twenty individual. February 21st, 2007, the group left individual the " Coils so sweet " , musical topic of the drama televised Hana Yori Danga Returns , classified number one in the Oricon daily and weekly (jounalier and weekly magazine). Their individual nineteenth, " We Can Make It! " , left on May 2nd, 2007, was also classified number one the first week of its exit, to fall below signal 10 the second week and to go up in signal 10 at the time of the third week.

In April 2007, the group carried out representations in more the big rooms to date. The round Arashi Around Asia took place in the Kyocera Dome in Osaka and the Tokyo Dome , rooms being able to reach a full capacity of 100 thousand people, and accommodated yant AEN more than 200 thousand.

The last album of Arashi " Time" left in July 2007 , and began also number one in the classifications Oricon , and was past with 191.000 specimens at the time of the first week of its exit.

Aiba Masaki is the largest member of the group, and has a singular voice. He was once hospitalized after being itself évanouït following a Pneumothorax at the time of a repetition, he undergoes an operation which forced it to stop the saxophone. Aiba works with many animals as a Co-presenter of the show televised " Tensai! Shimura Doubutsuen". He excels in sport, especially in Basket-ball. He is known to have limited an enough time of concentration and for often changing subject during the various interviews and television programs, he is also known by the fans as being the member more attaching and eccentrique of the group Arashi . Aiba has also problems with the Japanese, more particularly with the Kanji . One can see it making many misreadings in the emissions and performances live. During the first years of Arashi , Aiba had been indicated by Johnny' S to be the leader of the group but that forever be effective.

Ninomiya Kazunari is the first member of the group to have bored with Hollywood , because it appeared in film of Clint Eastwood " Letters of Iwo Jima ". With Jun Matsumoto , another member of Arashi , it makes party of the young most recognized Japanese actors and one says of him that it is capable of " to play only with its regard" . Ninomiya stated to be left-handed but to be forced by his/her parents to write right hand since it is very small. He plays of the guitar , plays of the piano , composes and writes the words of songs . However he often was seen with a game console with the hand and acknowledged in an interview which he was a otaku . During the first years of Arashi , Johnny' S named it the " better interpréte".

Jun Matsumoto is the youngest member of Arashi . It is known for its roles in dramas like " Bambino! " , " Hana Yori Dango " and " Hana Yori Dango Returns ", " Kimi wa Petto " and " Gokusen ". He is the first Japanese man to have made the cover of Marie Claire Japan . Ohno called it the " Master of the concerts" because it tends to deal with all the details during their concerts. During the first years of the group, it was named by Johnny' S as being of " member more drôle". Since, it more or less lost this image of comic and at same summer called " C-S" by the other members of the group (S wanting to say " Sadique") Jun is one of the three idols to being regarded as the elite in the Johnny' S because it had to make party of the agency by Johnny Kitagawa (the director of Johnny' S Entertainment) itself, without having to pass from hearings.

Ohno Satoshi is the oldest member of the group, he became leader group after having gained against Sakurai Sho with the play Pierre-Paper-Scissors during a television program. This situation is repeated since very often, involuntary and not very enthusiastic gaining it to him against Sho . Being the oldest leader and of the group, he sings in general generally. Although he repeated not to want to be the leader of the group, the members of Arashi regard it as such, having it even in an interview presented like a new generation of idol, which directs without directing whole. When the members of Arashi made their beginning and that he was not yet the leader, Ohno had been called by Johnny' S like the " better danseur" It makes also party of the comic duet of Arashi the Ohmiya SK , together with Kazunari Ninomiya . Of all the members, it is that which appeared the least in dramas preferring the theater or to work its Article. Its first concert solo took place the January 29th, 2006 .

Sakurai Sho sings the majority of the parts Rap of the songs of Arashi , words which he writes itself (the fans call it " Sakurap" ). Sho was the first member of the group to make a concert solo, " The Show " the January 14th, 2006. Sho is the member more educated group, being graduate of the Université of Keio (the equivalent Japanese of the Université of Yale, Columbia, Harvard, Princeton, etc…) . During the first years of the group Arashi , Sho had been called by Johnny' S the " leader in the études" . Although it lost with Pierre-Paper-Scissors, thus avoiding to him becoming the leader of the group, the four other members of Arashi on several occasions pointed out qualities of leadership of Sho .

Apart from their musical career, the members of Arashi also appeared in films, dramas, pubs, plays. In this moment they are the presenters various programmes of varieties such as " Mago Mago Arashi " and " Arashi No Shukudai-kun ".
