Aranel

The aranel is a Cépage of white grape France.

Origin and geographical distribution

The aranel is obtaining the National institute of the agronomic research of Montpellier. The genetic cause is checked and it is a crossing of the type of vines gray Grenache X Saint-stone gilded. This new variety of wine grapes approved by the CTPS (Permanent Technical Committee of the Selection) in 1987 and was classified recommended since 1992. It is adapted to the southernmost soils. Aranel is classified recommended today in the departments of the South of France. In France it covers + 5 hectares (1998).

Characters ampelographic

  • End of the young duveteux branch.
  • Young green sheets.
  • adult Sheets, 3 to 5 lobes with side sines at concave funds and parallel board, a closed petiolar sine, teeth angular, average, a aranéeux limb.

Farming aptitudes

Maturity is of second time: 20 - 22 days after the chasselas.

Technological potential

The bunches are large and the bays are of small size. The bunch is trocomic, compact and winged. The type of vine east is rather fertile and regular, not very sensitive to the Coulure and the Millerandage. It is rather resistant to the gray Pourriture. It can be cut short and conduit out of goblet.

In certified material, only one clone exists for this type of vine: clone 0879

Aranel is a type of vine intended for obtaining white wines dry.
