Aramean alphabet

The first Alphabet Araméen was based on the Alphabet phenician. Gradually, the araméen developed its own style of “square” writing more. Old the Jews and other people of Canaan used this clean alphabet to write their Langue S. It since became what we call today the Hebrew alphabet.

The other principal writing of the araméen was developed later: it is about the syriaque Alphabet (in which the book of left is written).

A very modified version of the Aramean alphabet, the Alphabet mandéen, was used by the Mandéen S.

In addition to these writings, much of alternatives of this alphabet were used: the Nabatéen with Petra, the Palmyrénien with Palmyre.
